CREWE MAINTAIN UNBEATEN RUN WITH GOAL

Crewe Alexandra have maintained their current unbeaten run after they scored a late goal to avoid defeat at the home of Blackpool in a league game played on Tuesday night. The two teams met at Bloomfield Road for an English League One clash andthe game ended in a share of the spoils. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw. Crewe Alexandra went behind just before the break. Northern Ireland international centre back Daniel Ballard scored the opener on 41 minutes to give hosts Blackpoolan advantage at the halftime interval. Daniel Ballard is on loan at Blackpool having joined them from parent club Arsenal at the start of the season. Blackpool held on to that advantage until the final four minutes of the game when Crewe Alexandra were rewarded for their endeavours especially manager David Artell, who was brave with his substitutions.


One of the substitutes, Stephen Walker had come on for midfielder Anthony Evans on 83 minutes and the striker went on to grab the leveller three minutes to ensure that his team will maintain their recent unbeaten run in the league. Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell got his reward for some brave substitutions in the quest for the equaliser. Crewe Alexandra were unbeaten in the last two league games and they were able to take it to three games with the late goal from Stephen Walker. Crewe Alexandra are now on a three-match unbeaten run ahead of the trip to face Lincoln City at the weekend. Crewe Alexandra have not lost since they were beaten 2-1 by hosts Swindon Town earlier this month. Crewe Alexandra are up by one place to 11thspot on the League One log with 45 points from 32 games, while opponents Blackpool are in 13th place with 44 points from 28 games.
